The Ministry of Defense Innovation Center participated in the annual NATO TIDE Sprint 2024 conference in Dresden, which contributes to the development of NATO and partner countries' military IT systems.
The theme of the event was a shift in approaches to warfare. The priority tasks in this direction by 2030 include conducting interoperable joint operations (including involving the civilian sector and cutting-edge technologies) and the importance of transitioning combat IT systems to cloud storage, the effectiveness of which has already been tested in combat conditions by Ukrainian military developers.
"Today, Ukrainian forces use all possible technologies to gain an advantage over the enemy, and we at the Innovation Center create modern IT products. They allow us to have an information advantage, increase the coordination and efficiency of our forces, and, most importantly, to remotely manage operations with less risk to personnel. Innovation includes solving existing problems with new tools," said Major Yelizaveta Boyko, developer of the DELTA system.
The Innovation Center delegation demonstrated how cloud computing and big data processing can digitalize existing NATO standards and shared their experience in developing the DELTA battlefield management ecosystem. Special attention was given to improving cybersecurity processes, and a technology for integrating drones into the DELTA system and other systems was presented, achieved through cooperation with the Ministry of Digital Transformation, partners from the NGO "Aerorozvidka," and the company Cossack Labs.
"DELTA accelerates decision-making and provides an advantage over the enemy on the battlefield. We are constantly working to expand its functionality and introduce AI-based tools. The world has no experience in using technologies that Ukraine already successfully uses on the battlefield. The use of robots at the forefront is a separate phenomenon. Thanks to the Innovation Center team for leadership in the field," summed up the results of the event Deputy Minister of Defense Kateryna Chernogorenko.
DELTA is a unique ecosystem of military products developed by the military for the military, built to NATO standards. It allows real-time battlefield visualization and displays the air, ground, and sea situation on a digital map. The system enables information exchange within units, brigades, and, when necessary, with allies.
