The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has signed a memorandum with one of the world's leaders in satellite technology, the Finnish company ICEYE, to enhance cooperation in the field of space reconnaissance, announced Deputy Minister of Defense Kateryna Chernogorenko on Tuesday morning.
According to the Ministry of Defense press service, ICEYE manufactures microsatellites and has one of the world's largest constellations of radar satellites.
"Cooperation with ICEYE and the signing of the memorandum will significantly improve our reconnaissance activities. We are grateful to the company for its commitment to democratic values, support for the Ukrainian people, and its position on restricting satellite imagery over Ukrainian territory. We must defend our country on land, in the air, at sea, in cyberspace, and in space," emphasized Chernogorenko.
She further noted that the agreement with ICEYE aims to strengthen cooperation in the field of Earth remote sensing, which is crucial for Ukraine's national security and defense.
