Western countries need to do more to make sanctions against Russia more effective.
This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia, Tanja Fajon, as reported by RND.
"The war in Ukraine has been going on for three years now, and unfortunately, there is no prospect of a just peace. Ukrainians are the first ones who want peace, and we want a just and strong peace in Ukraine to come as soon as possible. Civilian population, economy, and infrastructure of the country suffer most from the war," she said.
The minister added that Russian aggression poses a threat to neighboring countries and their economies.
"Look at the sanctions imposed by the EU: I think we need to do more to make sanctions more effective. They are not working to make (Russian dictator Vladimir, - Ed.) Putin suffer; instead, EU countries need to make great efforts to replace Russian goods. We must find new measures to stop the Russian military machine," Fajon said.
She emphasized that Europe should not allow Putin to win this war.
