The online meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group (UDCG) is scheduled for November 22, during which the ongoing military support for Ukraine will be discussed, as reported on the website of the Ministry of Defense of Norway on Thursday.
"This will be the 17th consecutive meeting. The U.S. Secretary of Defense has invited ministers of defense and leaders of defense departments from approximately 50 countries to discuss the continued military support for Ukraine in the short and long term," the statement said.
The Minister of Defense of Norway, Bjørn Arild Gram, will participate in the meeting.
"The Minister of Defense will attend the online meeting from Stockholm, where he will be attending a meeting of defense ministers from the Nordic countries," the department reported.
As reported, the 16th NATO-Ukraine Council meeting at the level of defense ministers took place at NATO headquarters in Brussels on October 11.
During the previous meeting, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg stated that all allies agreed that Ukraine would become a member of NATO and called for increased efforts to provide military assistance to Kyiv. U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III announced that the U.S. would provide Ukraine with a new security assistance package worth $200 million, including air defense missiles and artillery ammunition.
