In Ukraine, 520 children have lost their lives, and at least 1,191 have sustained injuries of varying severity due to the full-scale armed aggression by the Russian Federation as of the morning of January 9, according to a statement from the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine on Tuesday.
"The highest number of affected children is reported in the following regions: Donetsk - 504, Kharkiv - 313, Kherson - 145, Kyiv - 130, Dnipropetrovsk - 111, Zaporizhzhia - 100, Mykolaiv - 97, Chernihiv - 72, Luhansk - 67. During the day on January 8, five children aged 4, 8, 11, 16, and 17 were injured as a result of enemy missile shelling of Novomoskovsk in Dnipropetrovsk region," the statement reads.
The Prosecutor General's Office noted that these figures are not final, and work is ongoing to establish them in the areas of hostilities, temporarily occupied, and liberated territories of Ukraine.
