Ukrainian drones attacked an oil refinery in Tatarstan. This is near the location where the assembly plant for Shakhed drones was also targeted.
This information was reported by a source in the special services to RBC-Ukraine.
According to the source, these were joint actions of the Ukrainian Security and Defense Forces.
Meanwhile, Russian media report that it concerns the Taneko oil refinery in Nizhnekamsk. According to preliminary data, a drone hit one of the installations, resulting in a fire.
The Taneko oil refinery (Tatarstan Oil Refinery Complex), owned by Tatneft, is located in Nizhnekamsk, Tatarstan. It was founded in 2005 and is the first refinery built from scratch in post-Soviet Russia. In 2022, it rose to fifth place in the ranking of the country's largest oil refineries, with a processing capacity of 16.2 million tons of oil per year.
The fire at the oil refinery has already been extinguished. It's worth noting that Nizhnekamsk is located approximately 1200 km from the Russian-Ukrainian border. Additionally, just a few kilometers from the city is the special economic zone "Alabuga," where a drone attack also occurred on Tuesday.
