Against the backdrop of cargo blockades, on February 20, Poles blocked the railway near the Medyka-Shehyni checkpoint. They even overturned one of the wagons carrying Ukrainian grain.
This was reported by suspilne.media.
"This is a reaction to the influx of grain from Ukraine. This is very bad. People are desperate and cannot restrain themselves. No one is controlling this: neither the Polish authorities nor the Ukrainian ones," said Roman Kondruv, co-organizer of the protest by Polish farmers.
According to him, the protesters are spilling the grain "due to emotions."
"We have no control over people; they cannot hold back and spill. We are bankrupt because everything is being brought in uncontrollably from Ukraine," adds the co-organizer of the protest.
Later, the police arrived at the scene. Polish farmers opened the railway for traffic.
On February 20, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine called on the Polish government to unblock the border between the countries.
