The Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation declared the international human rights organization Freedom House "undesirable." This organization conducts research on the state of political and civil liberties worldwide.

The Russian authority believes that among Freedom House's main activities is "promoting the establishment of the so-called 'dominant' role of the United States in the world."

Moreover, according to the Russian Prosecutor General's Office, since the beginning of the full-scale war in Ukraine, the organization has been involved in "promoting the policies of unfriendly states" and "discrediting" the Russian army. It has called for assistance to Ukraine, advocated for the confiscation of frozen assets of Russia abroad, and intensified sanctions.

"The organization provides informational, financial, legal, and other support to Russian opposition structures, pro-Western and LGBT activists, defending their interests in communities and individuals convicted of terrorist crimes," the Prosecutor General's Office of Russia stated.
