On February 14, 2024, the Main Intelligence Directorate, in cooperation with all components of the Security and Defense Forces of Ukraine, destroyed the large landing ship "Caesar Kunikov" of the Black Sea Fleet of Russia.
The successful mission was carried out by the special forces of "Group 13" of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. The implementation of the special operation was made possible with the support of the United24 platform.
The Russian ship was attacked by the Magura V5 strike sea drones near the coast of temporarily occupied Crimea, not far from the city of Alupka.
As a result, the "Caesar Kunikov" sustained critical breaches on the port side and began to sink. Symbolically, the Russian officer for whom the ship was named was killed exactly 81 years ago.
The large landing ship "Caesar Kunikov," Project 775, is one of the newest Russian vessels. It could accommodate 87 crew members on board. It was used by Moscow during wars against Georgia, Syria, and Ukraine.
