The Security Service and Cyberpolice detained in Kharkiv an accomplice of the Russian Federation who worked for the aggressor country's military space forces.

The individual turned out to be a 47-year-old resident of Kharkiv, who serves as the general director of a Russian company that calibrates the spy satellites 'Kondor-FKA' and 'Obzor-R.'

The aggressors use these space systems to detect the current geolocations of the Defense Forces, correct Russian fire, and conduct reconnaissance.

To calibrate and set up the Russian satellites, the suspect entered into relevant contracts with the corporation Roscosmos (Russian State Corporation for Space Activities).

According to the signed document, the suspect ordered the transfer of his company's testing ground to the military space forces of the Russian Federation.

All necessary documents were signed by the contractor via email, and instructions to subordinates in Russia were given through chat in messaging apps.

Additionally, during the investigation, it was established that before the full-scale war, the suspect had lived in Russia for an extended period and even became a participant in the Kremlin's resettlement programme to the aggressor country.

Law enforcement documented the subversive activities of the offender and detained him at his residence in Kharkiv.

During searches, the detained individual had a Russian passport, computer equipment, and mobile phones with evidence of criminal activity seized.

The suspect and his possible accomplices were also found to possess over 10 million hryvnias, likely obtained through cooperation with the Russian forces.

The investigators of the Security Service informed him of suspicion under Part 1 of Article 111-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (aiding the aggressor state).

The offender is in custody. He faces up to 12 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The investigation continues to hold accountable all participants involved in assisting the aggressor in the war against Ukraine.
