The Security Service of Ukraine has detained two more FSB agents in Kyiv and Rivne. The suspects are accused of preparing coordinates for Russian missile and drone strikes on Ukraine.

According to the case materials, the main task of these spotters was to find and transmit the locations of the Third Assault Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The Russian agents also aimed to obtain coordinates of military hospitals and other medical facilities where injured Ukrainian defenders were being treated.

The investigation revealed that the Russian agents were a 24-year-old laborer from Kyiv and a 32-year-old deserter who had been hiding in the western part of Ukraine.

The perpetrators acted separately but were coordinated by a supervisor from the Russian FSB's "Crimea and Sevastopol Directorate." The cyber specialists of the SSU have established the personal details of this supervisor.

Following instructions from the Russian intelligence officer, the agents attempted to locate military objects and ascertain the presence of personnel there.

If they identified "necessary" targets, the suspects would pretend to make a phone call, while actually filming videos with location markers.

For the sake of secrecy, the traitors used two devices: one to record the locations of the objects, and the other to contact their supervisor via anonymous chats in a messaging app.

SSU cyber specialists detected the agents in advance and carried out comprehensive measures to secure the locations of the Defense Forces.

During the final stage of the special operation, the two suspects were simultaneously detained in two regions of Ukraine while spying near military sites.

Mobile phones containing evidence of their work for the Russian forces were seized at the scene.

SSU investigators have informed the detainees of their suspicion under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (treason committed under martial law).

The criminals are in custody and face life imprisonment with property confiscation.
