The security service (SSU) exposed another enemy accomplice as a result of counter-subversive measures in the front-line areas of southern Ukraine.
The perpetrator was a deacon of one of the churches of the Zaporizhia Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate), who publicly approved the holding of an illegal referendum on the region's "joining" the Russian Federation.
To do this, he activated a profile on the banned Vkontakte social network and, on his behalf, "reposted" calls from pro-Kremlin bloggers to support the fake plebiscite.
Commenting on Russian publications, he urged people to come to the "polling stations" and "vote" in favor of the aggressor country.
In addition, in his "posts" he denied the existence of the Ukrainian people, their language and their culture.
The cleric also questioned Ukraine's state sovereignty and territorial integrity within internationally recognized borders.
Materials for destructive content were taken from propagandist publics of the Russian social network, including "Russian Spring".
An independent examination of the published materials initiated by the SSU confirmed the subversive activities of the person involved.
During searches of his residence, law enforcement officers found computer equipment with evidence of crimes.
The issue of choosing a preventive measure is being resolved.
Currently, a pre-trial investigation is underway to establish all the circumstances of criminal actions against the state security of Ukraine.
Crime detection measures were carried out by SBU employees under the procedural guidance of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Prosecutor's Office.
