Cyber specialists of the Security Service detained another agent of Russian intelligence, who adjusted missile-drone strikes on Kharkiv.
The perpetrator turned out to be an employee of a local kindergarten. During her free time from work, she assisted the Russians in targeting military installations in the regional center. To direct fire, the perpetrator received geolocation data of potential targets from the Russian forces, and then conducted reconnaissance there. While near the object, she covertly observed it to determine the approximate number of personnel and military equipment stationed there. Subsequently, the agent transmitted the obtained information to her Russian handler via messenger in the form of text messages with coordinates on Google maps.
Based on the intelligence report, the Russian forces prepared air attacks on the city using missile weapons and Shahed kamikaze drones.
Thanks to the prompt response of the SSU, the collaborator was exposed at the initial stage of her reconnaissance activity and then documented step by step. At the same time, comprehensive measures were taken to secure the defense points of Kharkiv.
Subsequently, SSU operatives arrested the perpetrator in her own residence.
According to the investigation, the woman was remotely recruited by Russian intelligence in the fall of 2023. She came into the enemy's sight through her acquaintance from the town of Kupiansk, who fled to Russia during the capture of the district center and joined the Russian forces.
During the searches at the detainee's home, a mobile phone used by her to communicate with the aggressor was seized.
Based on the collected evidence, the Security Service investigators informed her of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (state treason committed under conditions of martial law).
Currently, the perpetrator is in custody. She faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
