Vice Prime Minister for Innovations and Minister of Digital Transformation, Mykhailo Fedorov, stated that Ukraine has contracted domestically produced robotic turrets for the first time.
"Technologically empowering the army with Brave1," wrote the official.
He noted that "Shablya" is a bulletproof automated system for machine guns, helping soldiers remotely destroy the enemy. It is thanks to the remote operation that the turret preserves the lives and health of machine gunners.
"Our task is to help create innovations so that they reach the battlefield faster, are applied more quickly, we receive feedback, and there are more of these innovations. We must sow startups and enable young entrepreneurs to create projects that change the situation on the battlefield. Technologies help save the lives of our soldiers and be effective," added Fedorov.
The combat system operates remotely using a control panel. This allows engaging in battle from a distance and preserving the lives of defenders. The combat module "Shablya" was created by the company Global Dynamics from Lviv. The turret is designed for combat with different weapons: a 7.62mm or 12.7mm machine gun, a 40mm grenade launcher. The complex is equipped with a thermal imager and rangefinder, allowing targets to be detected at distances of up to 2 kilometers and effectively engaging them.
