During a massive overnight Russian attack, the Trypillia Thermal Power Plant, located in the Kyiv region, has been completely destroyed.
Andrii Hota, the chairman of the supervisory board of PJSC Centrenergo, announced this.
"All the employees who were on duty during the shelling are alive," Hota said.
It's worth noting that recently, the mayor of the town of Ukrayinka, where the station is located, urged residents to close their windows in their homes to avoid breathing harmful smoke.
As a result of the hits, a massive fire broke out in the turbine hall. Currently, efforts are underway at the facility to contain the fire. The Trypillia Thermal Power Plant was the largest electricity supplier in the Kyiv, Cherkasy, and Zhytomyr regions.
"The scale of the destruction is horrifying. It cannot be assessed in monetary terms. This is the biggest challenge for us in the entire history of the enterprise. But I am convinced - we will cope with it," said Andrii Hota, the chairman of the supervisory board of PJSC "Centrenergo."
On March 22, 2024, the Zmiivska Thermal Power Plant in Kharkiv region was completely destroyed. And on July 25, 2022, the Russian forces occupied the Vuhlehirska Thermal Power Plant in Donetsk region.
As of today, PJSC Centrenergo has lost 100% of its generation capacity.
