The Ukraine Recovery Conference 2025 (URC-2025) will take place in Rome on July 10-11, as announced by Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.
"A look into the future of peace and prosperity, a European future also means looking at recovery. This is an initiative we are very much involved in," she said following a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Rome on Friday night.
For his part, Zelensky thanked her for preparing the Ukraine recovery conference. "It is important for us that Italian businesses are represented in recovery projects in Ukraine," the president emphasized.
He noted that during their conversation, they paid special attention to the economic aspect of the Victory Plan.
"In particular, regarding the special economic opportunities in Ukraine and the critical resources that must not, under any circumstances, fall into Russian hands or be under Russian control. Indeed, Europe and the entire free world must gain more economic strength through our cooperation," Zelensky stressed.
As reported, before the war, a tradition of holding conferences on reforms in Ukraine was established, the last of which took place in 2021 in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania. After the onset of full-scale Russian aggression, these were transformed into Recovery Conferences. URC-2022 was held in Lugano, Switzerland, where the Lugano Principles were adopted as the basis for recovery and uniting international efforts.
URC-2023 took place in London, UK, focusing on attracting private capital for recovery, and URC-2024 was held in Berlin on June 21-22, adding discussions on the human dimension of recovery, as well as local and regional aspects.
