As a result of the UAF strike on the base of the Chechen regiment in the Kherson region, more than 40 fighters were killed, and about two hundred were injured, reported Serhiy Khlan, head of the Kherson Regional Military District of Ukraine. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in its evening report, specified that the attack was on a school in the village of Kairy, and as a result, "up to 30 people" were killed.
The Chechen opposition telegram channel 1ADAT, in turn, claims that âKadyrovitesâ from the special unit of the Chechen Russian Guard âNeftepolkâ were hit and that at least a hundred people were killed.
A video appeared on Telegram and YouTube, in which some military men, sitting in a destroyed building, speak Chechen and examine each other's injuries. Its authenticity has not been confirmed.
The Russian command and the Chechen authorities have not officially confirmed the death of the fighters.
The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, shortly after the appearance of reports of the mass death of Chechen fighters, published a voice message in a telegram in which he expressed the opinion that Russia was âpoorly respondingâ to Ukrainian strikes and that âif a shell flew in our direction, in our region, we must erase it from lands [Ukrainian] cities".
