The Ukrainian opera 'Chornobyldorf' will be showcased in New York.

The opera by Ukrainian composers Roman Hryhoriv and Illia Razumeiko will be presented in New York in January 2024.

The opera depicts the descendants of humanity who survived a series of catastrophes. They traverse the ruins of nuclear power plants, churches, theaters, galleries, attempting to revive the lost civilization. The opera can be attended at the Prototype Festival on January 11, 13–15, and 18–21, 2024.

"Chornobyldorf" has been included in the list of the six best music-theatrical performances according to Music Theater Now. The opera has toured in Vienna, Rotterdam, Vilnius, Huddersfield, and has been broadcast on BBC Radio in the UK.

In Ukraine, the premiere took place in 2020 at the Mystetskyi Arsenal, and in April 2023, the second performance was held at the National Academic Ballet Opera.
