The Ukrainian female weightlifting team secured 12 medals and claimed the top spot in the women's team standings at the European Weightlifting Championships, as reported by the press service of the partner of the Ukrainian Weightlifting Federation, the Epicenter shopping center network.
At the competition in Bulgaria, the Ukrainian women's team earned five gold, five silver, and two bronze medals. In the 59 kg weight category, Kamila Konotop clinched three gold medals, becoming the absolute European champion with lifts of 105 kg in snatch, 125 kg in clean and jerk, and a total of 230 kg.
According to the announcement, Hanna Davidova and Svitlana Samuliak showcased their talents in the 64 kg weight category. Davidova secured two silver medals in snatch and clean and jerk, claiming victory in the total with a lift of 220 kg. Samuliak, for the second time in a row, confirmed her status as a silver medalist in Europe, lifting one kg less than her teammate in total (219 kg).
Anastasiia Manevska became the three-time European vice-champion in the 87 kg weight category, earning two silver medals in clean and jerk and total. Valentina Kisil concluded with a bronze medal in snatch in the +87 kg weight category.
Among men, Pavlo Zalipskyi added a silver medal to the overall standings of the Ukrainian team in the 61 kg weight category. He lifted 126 kg in snatch and secured silver in the competition, lifted 145 kg in clean and jerk, and finished fourth in total, narrowly losing to the bronze medalist from Georgia by just 1 kg.
The press service also announced that the Ukrainian team (men and women) shared third place in the overall medal standings of the European Championships with Italy, behind Bulgaria and Armenia.
