On July 4, Odessa will celebrate the Day of the Ukrainian Navy. The command of the Ukrainian Navy announces an extensive programme of celebrating the professional holiday of Ukrainian military sailors.


In Odessa, the main events will begin at 09.00 at the marina of the Sea Station with the ceremony of raising the State Flag of Ukraine, the Naval Flag of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, flag flags and flags of colouring. After that, in honour of the memory of fallen soldiers, a ritual of laying wreaths and flowers on the water is provided. At that time, helicopters of the Ukrainian Navy will fly with a demonstration of the State Flag of Ukraine and the Naval Flag of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and on the terrace of the Naval Station the creative team of the Center for Military Music Art of the Ukrainian Navy will give a music concert to Odessa and guests.

From 10 a.m., guests and media representatives will be treated to an exhibition "Memory Blockpost" at the Odessa Maritime Station, which presents the heroism of Ukraine's defenders against Russian aggression.

At 7 pm, at the City Garden's Summer Theater, a joint group of the Ukrainian Navy Military Music Centre and the US Navy Band will present a concert on the occasion of the Ukrainian Navy Day and the US Independence Day, and after sunset you can admire the spectacular illumination on warships.

Festivities will take place in all cities and towns where units of the Ukrainian Navy are based, holiday programs will include tours of military units, holiday concerts, demonstrations of weapons and military equipment for locals, and more.

Also from July 5 to 9, 2021 for residents and guests of Odessa will be held concert performances of the 6th US Navy Orchestra and the Center for Military Music Art of the Ukrainian Navy at Dumskaya Square, in Shevchenko Park, near the Colonnade, Potemkin stairs and in the City Garden.
