After the liberation of Kherson in early November, Ukrainian law enforcement agencies and international organizations involved in collecting evidence of war crimes continue to find torture chambers in the city. One cell for minors was found. In such basements, the Russian military kept local residents who were suspected of collaborating with the SSU or detained for civic activism, for example, for participating in anti-occupation rallies. Another torture chamber was found in the building of a local correctional institution. Kherson investigators say people here were electrocuted and beaten with batons, and forced to write Russian patriotic slogans.
