UCCA Illinois to host global insights forum on Ukraine’s resilience

The Illinois division of the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America (UCCA) is organizing a forum titled, “Ukraine and the World Global Insights Forum” to mark Ukraine’s Independence Day. 

The event will take place on Aug. 23 at the Ukrainian Cultural Center in Chicago’s Ukrainian Village neighborhood in West Town..

The forum will bring together global leaders, scholars, and activists to discuss some of today’s most urgent challenges through the lens of Ukraine’s extraordinary courage, resilience, and moral clarity amid ongoing aggression.

The programme includes panel discussions, workshops, and networking opportunities, according to the organizers.

Key topics will cover global security and peace through strength, combating disinformation and the “axis of evil,” environmental impacts of war and sustainable rebuilding, achieving justice, and building a global community.

Esteemed speakers include former U.S. Ambassadors Michael McFaul, Ivo Daalder,  MP Oleksandra Ustinova, Fmr. U.S. Rep. Peter Roskam (R), MP Volydymyr Vyatrovych, Adrian Karatnycky, Dr. Daniel Hryhorczuk, Dr. Timothy Erickson, Oleksandra Matviichuk, Yevhen Hlibovytskyi among others.

“We invite community leaders, policymakers, scholars, students and engaged citizens to be part of this important conversation and help lay the groundwork for a peaceful and just world,” the organizers said.
