The Minister of Defense of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov and German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius signed two implementation agreements on the sidelines of the Ukraine Defence Contact Group meeting in the Ramstein format.
The signing took place in the presence of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.
The documents concern the development of anti-ballistic capabilities and the joint production of “Termit” ground robotic systems in Germany.
Anti-ballistic programme
The first agreement is aimed at developing industrial cooperation between Ukrainian and German companies in the field of air and missile defense.
It focuses on strengthening European and Ukrainian industrial capabilities in anti-ballistic defense and supporting the future development and production of modern interceptor missiles.
This is part of a large-scale project aimed at creating a sovereign European solution against ballistic missiles. For Ukraine, it is one of the priority directions for strengthening protection of cities, critical infrastructure, and civilians from Russian missile attacks. For Europe, it is a step toward building its own modern anti-ballistic capabilities based on Ukraine’s experience of full-scale war.
The project is being implemented as part of agreements between President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and international partners.
Production of “Termit” ground robotic systems in Germany
The second agreement concerns the joint production of “Termit” ground robotic systems in Germany.
The project will enable the joint production and delivery of several thousand ground robotic systems for Ukraine’s Defense Forces. The implementation will be financed by Germany.
