On October 1-2, a joint Ukrainian-Japanese online Capture The Flag (CTF) competition will be held to enhance cybersecurity knowledge.

CTF is a cybersecurity competition where participants complete various tasks to capture flags—special codes hidden in environments that simulate real information systems. The winner is the one who finds the most flags within the allocated time. Such competitions are a popular method for practicing cybersecurity skills and preparing for real-world scenarios.

Participants will have the opportunity to attend lectures from leading experts, exchange experiences, and test their skills by completing cybersecurity challenges with Japanese colleagues.

The event will feature speeches from:

  • Takao Imagawa, Deputy Minister for Policy Coordination, Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications of Japan
  • Valeria Ionan, Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine for European Integration

Among the invited experts:

  • Takashi Kasubuchi, Head of Security at NTT West Japan, organizer of the WEST-SEC security community
  • Satoki Tsudji, Security Engineer at Ricerca Security Inc.

Skills acquired during the lectures can be immediately applied by participating in the CTF competition.

Date: October 1 from 13:00 to 15:00 and October 2 from 13:00 to 16:00 Kyiv time.

Format: Online

English-Japanese simultaneous translation will be provided.

The CTF competition is organized by the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine in collaboration with the State Special Communications Service and the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications of Japan.
