Ukraine has decided to confiscate two medium-range An-148-100E passenger planes from a Russian leasing company.
This was reported by the High Anti-Corruption Court.
It is noted that the court today decided to satisfy the claim of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine against the joint-stock company "Ilyushin Finance Co" to apply sanctions.
The court explained that "Ilyushin Finance Co" is a specialized company that is part of the state corporation "Rostec" and is responsible for leasing, managing, and selling aircraft manufactured at Russian aviation plants.
The company, as part of "Rostec," occupies a niche that ensures the functioning of the strategically important aviation transport sector for the Russian Federation.
"In the context of Russia's aviation reorientation towards domestic manufacturers and the aim to support the aviation transport sector with domestically produced aircraft, 'Ilyushin Finance Co,' as a leading lessor in Russia, plays a significant role in supporting the aviation industry and consequently assists the higher political leadership of the Russian Federation in countering sanction restrictions," the statement from the High Anti-Corruption Court said.
It also stated that before and during the full-scale invasion, "Ilyushin Finance Co" systematically cooperated with the top political leadership of Russia and participated in the material and technical support of Russia's armed aggression by supplying aircraft and components to the benefit of law enforcement agencies and structural units of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
Therefore, by the decision of the High Anti-Corruption Court, two medium-range An-148-100E passenger planes were confiscated in favor of the state.
