Since the start of the full-scale invasion, Russian forces have launched 9,627 missiles against Ukraine
According to the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi, Ukraine has successfully intercepted 2,429 of these missiles.
Syrskyi stated,
“Since the beginning of the large-scale aggression, the enemy has used over 9,600 missiles and nearly 14,000 strike drones. Our air defense systems have destroyed over 2,400 missiles and 9,200 drones.”
Breakdown of Russian Missiles Used:
- Kinzhal: 111 missiles (28 intercepted)
- Kalibr: 894 missiles (443 intercepted)
- X-555/101: 1,846 missiles (1,441 intercepted)
- Oniks: 211 missiles (12 intercepted)
- Iskander-K: 202 missiles (76 intercepted)
- X-35: 15 missiles (1 intercepted)
- Other: 57 missiles (0 intercepted)
- X-22/32: 362 missiles (2 intercepted)
- Iskander-M/KN-23 (from North Korea): 1,300 missiles (56 intercepted)
- Zircon: 6 missiles (2 intercepted)
- Tochka-U: 68 missiles (6 intercepted)
- X-25/29/31/35/58/59/60: 1,547 missiles (343 intercepted)
- S-300/400: 3,008 missiles (19 intercepted)
General Oleksandr Syrskyi reported that, since the start of the full-scale war, Russia has launched 13,997 strike drones against Ukraine, with 9,272 intercepted. The breakdown of drone attacks includes:
- Shahed Drones: 13,315 (8,836 intercepted)
- Other Drones: 682 (430 intercepted)
These drones targeted 1,022 civilian and 3,697 military objects.
Additionally, between August 6 and 14, Russian forces expended 400,630 artillery shells, averaging 44,500 shells per day. This is three times the amount used by Ukrainian forces, which fired 131,460 shells, or 14,600 per day.
“Enemy forces maintain a high intensity of artillery shelling against our troops in the east and south of Ukraine, using up to 45,000 shells daily,” Syrskyi noted.
The ratio of artillery shell expenditure has improved from 7:1 in January-May 2024 (approximately 70,000 to 10,000 shells daily) to 3:1 in July-August 2024. In October-December 2023, Russian forces expended over 30,000 artillery shells daily compared to up to 10,000 by Ukrainian forces, while in August-September 2023, the ratio was about 20,000 to 13,000.
