In the first five months of 2024, Ukraine's trade turnover amounted to $44.3 billion, according to a report by the State Customs Service of Ukraine on Facebook.
During January to May 2024, Ukraine imported goods worth $27.5 billion and exported goods worth $16.8 billion.
The top destinations for Ukraine's exports were Poland with $1.7 billion, China with $1.4 billion, and Spain also with $1.4 billion.
The top three categories of goods exported from Ukraine were:
- Food products totaling $10.8 billion
- Metals and metal products totaling $1.8 billion
- Mineral products totaling $1.6 billion
The countries from which Ukraine imported the most goods were China at $5.3 billion, Poland at $2.9 billion, and Germany at $2.2 billion.
The largest categories of imported goods, accounting for 65% of the total imports from January to May 2024, were:
- Machinery, equipment, and transport vehicles totaling $9.4 billion
- Chemical industry products totaling $5.1 billion
- Fuel and energy products totaling $3.4 billion
