On Wednesday, Ukraine received €170 million for housing programs from the Council of Europe Development Bank.

Prime Minister of Ukraine, Yulia Svyrydenko, announced the funding, noting that the agreement for the loan was signed in Rome during URC-2025.

She explained that €70 million will go to the “HOME: Compensation for Destroyed Housing” project. This will provide 1,500 new housing certificates and enable 4,000 families to acquire homes to replace those destroyed, prioritizing defenders, people with disabilities, and large families. Thanks to this program, over 7,600 Ukrainians have already received new housing, and in total, 24,300 families have received housing certificates.

The remaining €100 million is allocated to support internally displaced persons, covering housing, living expenses, children’s education, and community integration.

Svyrydenko emphasized that the housing sector remains one of the most affected areas. Overall, more than 135,000 families have benefited from the “eRecovery” program, receiving compensation for repairing damaged homes or for purchasing or building new ones.

She expressed gratitude to European partners and stressed that these joint efforts are helping Ukrainian families rebuild their lives in Ukraine.
