Today the Ministry of Internal Affairs received six fire and rescue vehicles and seven ambulances from the Government of the French Republic.
The ceremony to hand over the equipment took place in the 25th fire department of Kyiv with the participation of the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France Catherine Colonna, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Denys Monastyrskyy, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Ukraine Mr. Etienne de Poncins, the SES Chairman Serhii Kruk.
Ambulance vehicles, fire-tank wagon, special emergency equipment will be directed at taking urgent measures to eliminate the consequences of blockages of residential buildings, extinguishing fires, rescuing and evacuating people, as well as ensuring the performance of other activities.
According to the Minister of Internal Affairs Denys Monastyrskyy, today we have about a thousand units of lost equipment and more than 1,200 destroyed buildings of the SES, the National Police, the National Guard and other units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. France stands in solidarity with Ukraine today. This is the third tranche of transferred equipment. In these humanitarian missions, France undoubtedly has the lead in helping Ukraine.
"Each convoy we send is a demonstration of solidarity and friendship between the French and Ukrainian peoples. 1,300 local communities have organized the collection and delivery of humanitarian aid. We will further plan to help your country at this time of trials," said Catherine Colonna.
