In January-November of this year, Ukraine reduced its export of titanium-containing ores and concentrates by 42.2% in physical terms compared to the same period last year, totaling 6,394 tons.

According to statistics released by the State Customs Service (SCS) , the export of titanium-containing ores and concentrates decreased by 44.1% in monetary terms, amounting to $10.328 million.

The majority of exports were directed to Turkey (62.01% of shipments in monetary terms), Poland (7.82%), and Egypt (6.83%).

During the first eleven months of 2024, Ukraine imported 231 tons of titanium-containing ores worth $363,000, mainly from China (91.74%) and Senegal (8.26%).

In 2023, Ukraine reduced its export of titanium-containing ores in physical terms by 96.4% compared to 2022, to 11,648 tons, with revenue falling by 85.1% to $19.426 million. The main export destinations were Turkey (38.21% of the revenue), Japan (16.53%), and India (6.12%).

In the past year, Ukraine imported one ton of such ores from the Netherlands worth $2,000.

Currently, titanium-containing ores in Ukraine are mainly extracted by PJSC "United Mining and Chemical Company" (UMCC), which operates the Vilnogirsk Mining and Metallurgical Plant (VMMP, Dnipropetrovsk region) and the Irshansk Mining and Beneficiation Plant (IMBP, Zhytomyr region), as well as by LLC "Mezhirichinsk GOK" and LLC "Valky-Ilmenite" (both located in Irshansk, Zhytomyr region). Additionally, the production and commercial firm "Velta" (Dnipropetrovsk) has built a beneficiation plant at the Byrzulivske deposit with a capacity of 240,000 tons of ilmenite concentrate per year.
