On Tuesday, January 2, Ukraine managed to return a young man whom the Russians illegally transported from the temporarily occupied Mariupol to Moscow.

This was reported by the official Telegram channel of the Ministry of Reintegration.

"This story began in April 2022. Seventeen-year-old Oleksandr, along with a group of 31 children, was taken from the temporarily occupied Mariupol to Moscow. Most of the children in that group were orphans or lacked parental care. On the eve of the New Year, a public figure who is involved in returning children turned to the Department of Crisis Response of the Ministry," the Ministry said.

Now, Oleksandr is already in Kyiv. He is the fifth from this group who has been successfully returned.

"For almost two years abroad, he reached adulthood, but all this time, he wanted to return very much. The Ministry of Reintegration expresses gratitude to the head of the board of the NGO 'Ukrainian Network for Child Rights' Daria Kasyanova and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine," the statement said
