Ukraine has risen to 10th place in the Paralympic medal standings

On the fifth day of the Paris 2024 Paralympics, the Ukrainian team won eight more medals, including two golds.

Denys Ostapenko became the champion in swimming, and Ihor Tsvietov in the 100m sprint in athletics.

Ukraine’s medals on the fifth day:

  • Gold: Denys Ostapenko (Swimming, 50m Backstroke, S3), Ihor Tsvietov (Athletics, 100m, T35)
  • Silver: Andriy Trusov (Swimming, 400m Freestyle, S7), Illia Yaremenko (Swimming, 50m Freestyle, S13)
  • Bronze: Serhii Palamarchuk (Swimming, 50m Backstroke, S3), Oleksii Virchenko (Swimming, 50m Freestyle, S13), Oleksandr Lytvynenko (Athletics, Long Jump, T36), Zoia Ovsi (Athletics, Discus Throw, F51)

Ukraine has moved into the top 10 in the medal standings with 35 medals (5 gold, 12 silver, 18 bronze), marking the fifth highest medal count.

 

 

China remains the leader in the medal tally with 87 medals (43 gold).
