This year, Ukraine ranked second for the highest level of charity and exhibited the most significant growth in the World Giving Index.
Annually, the Charities Aid Foundation compiles the World Giving Index, ranking countries based on three criteria: helping strangers, donating, and volunteering.
Indonesia claimed the first position this year, with Kenya, Liberia, the United States, Myanmar, Kuwait, Canada, Nigeria, and New Zealand also making it to the top 10.
In 2022, Ukraine entered the top 10 for the first time, becoming the only European country in the list.
The ranking is based on data from the Gallup company, which analyzes indicators from over 140 countries worldwide. The first World Giving Index was formed in 2010.
In 2018, Ukraine ranked 81st in the index, surpassing Poland, Estonia, Russia, and Georgia. Overall, since 2010, the country has risen in the ranking by 69 positions.
