The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine started using the face recognition system of the American company Clearview AI on March 12, Reuters reports. Ukraine got access to the startup for free.
This program allows you to identify the occupiers, fight misinformation and identify the dead. Clearview has access to a database of 10 billion photos, two of which are from Russia's VKontakte social network.
According to company adviser Lee Volosky, Clearview will also help check people at checkpoints.
According to the publication, Clearview had not offered the technology to Russia, which calls its actions in Ukraine a "special operation."
