Electricity imports to Ukraine in October 2025 increased 2.5 times, reaching 360,000 MWh, according to preliminary data from ExPro Electricity monitoring.
Hungary continues to hold the largest share, at 51%, followed by Poland with 22%. At the end of October, Ukraine resumed cross-border trade with Slovakia after nearly a two-month pause due to maintenance on the Velke Kapusany–Mukachevo line. Imports from Slovakia over the last three days of the month amounted to 7,600 MWh, while exports to Slovakia during the same period totaled 1,800 MWh.

Overall, electricity imports in October increased across all directions. Compared to October 2024, Ukraine’s electricity imports doubled. At the same time, electricity exports in October 2025 fell by 85% due to intensified attacks on energy infrastructure. In total, 90,800 MWh of electricity were exported to EU countries and Moldova during the month.
Exports declined in all directions except Slovakia. Hungary retained the largest share of exports at 43%.
