Ukraine nationalized the factories of the sanctioned Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska with a total cost of UAH 10 billion. This was reported by the SSU press service.
"According to the materials of the Security Service, the High Anti-Corruption Court satisfied the lawsuit of the Ministry of Justice regarding the transfer of enterprises belonging to the Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska to the state ownership of Ukraine," the message reads.
The court's decision concerns:
- Mykolaiv Alumina Plant LLC
- Glukhiv Quarry Quartzite LLC
- Khustskyi Quarry PrJSC
- Zhezhelivskyi Quarry PrJSC
The law enforcement officers established that Deripaska, who is a member of the closest circle of the military and political leadership of the Russian Federation, managed enterprises through controlled commercial structures in various regions of Ukraine.
"Oleg Deripaska was sanctioned by Ukraine, the USA, the EU, the UK, Poland, the Swiss Confederation, Australia and New Zealand. In accordance with international sanctions and due to answers received on requests of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, the sanctioned person is a citizen of the russian federation who supports the Putin regime by being involved in receiving benefits from the russian government and production of armored vehicles used by the aggressor country in the war against Ukraine, â said Iryna Mudra, the Deputy Minister of Justice of Ukraine. â The Ministry of Justice of Ukraine collected a sufficient evidence base to file a lawsuit regarding seizure of Deripaskaâs assets located in Ukraine to the state income in the High Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine."
"In this way, the Russian oligarch tried to hide his relationship to Ukrainian assets. However, the employees of the Security Service exposed the scheme and initiated the transfer of 100% of Russian property to the income of Ukraine," the SSU added.
Measures for the nationalization of enterprises were carried out under the procedural guidance of the Prosecutor General's Office.
