Ukraine intends to propose its candidacy to the Board of Governors of the UN International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) for 2023-2025.
As the press service of the Ministry of Energy reported on Facebook, Energy Minister German Galushchenko took part in an informal meeting of EU energy and transport ministers, which took place in Stockholm.
"The Minister of Energy announced that Ukraine is nominating its candidacy for the IAEA Board of Governors for 2023-2025 and called on the meeting participants to join the discussion of this issue and support the Ukrainian application," the message says.
The head of the department also noted that Ukraine continues the course of integration into European energy markets, which is provided, in particular, by the draft new Energy Strategy of Ukraine until 2050. The relevant document prioritizes the development of nuclear generation and renewable energy sources, which will help to decentralize the Ukrainian energy system.
