Ukraine has received an additional €1 billion from the European Union using Russian assets.

This was announced by Ukraine’s Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal on Telegram.

According to him, this is the fifth tranche of macro-financial aid from the EU under the ERA initiative.

“The funds raised will be directed to key government budget expenditures,” Shmyhal emphasized.

Overall, he noted, Ukraine has already received €7 billion from the European Union through the ERA initiative. This funding is secured by revenues from the use of frozen Russian assets.

“We thank our partners for their consistent and reliable support. Together, we will make the aggressor pay for all the damage caused to Ukraine,” Shmyhal stressed.
