The Economic Court of Kharkiv region has decided to return three land plots along the Ukrainian-Russian border, with a total area of 566 hectares and a value of over UAH 3.5 billion, to state ownership.
Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office reported this.
According to the information, the court thus satisfied the lawsuit filed by the prosecutor's office on behalf of the state.
It was established that in Kharkiv region, the corresponding land plots "illegally moved from state ownership to communal ownership and leased to a private business entity for agricultural purposes."
The prosecutor's office added that these lands are, in fact, part of the border zone and should be used "exclusively for the construction and operation of engineering protective structures to protect against aggression from the side of the aggressor state."
The appeal period for the court's decision is currently ongoing, and once it becomes legally binding, measures will be taken for its full implementation.
"Work in this direction is carried out in close cooperation with the 4th Border Detachment of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine," the statement said.
The prosecutor's office also noted that this is the second successful lawsuit filed by the regional prosecutor's office in this category.
