Canada will finance the purchase of anti-aircraft missiles for the IRIS-T air defense systems of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In doing so, the country will contribute to the Air Defense Coalition for Ukraine, led by Germany.
This was announced by the Ministry of Defense of the Federal Republic of Germany.
On Friday, May 10, Canadian Defense Minister Bill Blair and his German counterpart Boris Pistorius signed a corresponding "letter of intent" in Ottawa.
The Government of Canada has allocated approximately 52 million euros, which will be spent on the purchase of anti-aircraft missiles necessary to strengthen Ukraine's air defense.
