Ukraine's trade turnover in January–April amounted to $38.1 billion

According to the State Customs Service, Ukraine’s trade turnover for January–April 2024 amounted to $38.1 billion.

During this period, Ukraine imported goods worth $24.8 billion and exported goods worth $13.3 billion. Taxed imports totaled $18.8 billion, accounting for 76% of the total imported goods.

The top countries exporting goods to Ukraine were China ($5.2 billion), Poland ($2.3 billion), and Germany ($2.1 billion). The top destinations for Ukrainian exports were Poland ($1.6 billion), Turkey ($932 million), and Italy ($843 million).

Among all imports during January–April, 67% consisted of:

  • machinery, equipment, and transport – $9.1 billion;
  • chemical industry products – $4.2 billion;
  • fuel and energy products – $3.3 billion.

The three leading categories of Ukrainian exports were:

  • food products – $7.6 billion;
  • metals and metal products – $1.5 billion;
  • machinery, equipment, and transport – $1.2 billion.

In January–April 2025, customs clearance of export goods subject to export duty generated UAH 105.7 million in revenue for the state budget.

Ukraine’s total trade turnover in 2024 increased by 13% compared to 2023 – from $99.4 billion to $112.3 billion. Over the year, imports amounted to $70.7 billion and exports to $41.6 billion.
