The IT company Master of Code Global developed a chatbot for the crowdfunding platform of the Catholic Church in New York.
The American church aimed to find innovative ways to engage a wide audience of donors and encourage their participation in charitable projects. Therefore, IT specialists created a bilingual chatbot (in English and Spanish) that can connect donors with social projects through Facebook Messenger.
Over 174,000 users have already interacted with the bot. Additionally, the bot has received donations totaling $84,500 for charitable projects.
The bot also allows users to order a "Mass" (a traditional term for a Catholic church service), which is then forwarded to a list of priests for scheduling on the specified day and time. As a result, approximately 7,000 Masses were ordered through the bot.
Furthermore, the chatbot allows users to join in collective prayer, choose specific occasions for spiritual unity, read news, and receive motivational messages, among other features.
"A few years ago, our team was invited to the world's first hackathon organized by the Vatican. We were invited to mentor teams and conduct a workshop on Conversational Experiences in the chatbot sphere. Our expertise in chatbot development within the church community opened doors for a new project. We are excited to create something technological and innovative for a fairly conservative field," commented Dmytro Grytsenko, founder and CEO of Master of Code Global.
