Ukrainian underground gas storage facilities have already accumulated 15.75 billion cubic meters of gas. According to the Chairman of the Board of NJSC "Naftogaz of Ukraine," Oleksiy Chernyshov, the company has exceeded its gas accumulation plan even before the upcoming heating season, reports lb.ua.

"As of today, we already have 15.75 billion cubic meters of gas. And before winter, we expect to cross the 16 billion cubic meters mark... These figures are absolutely sufficient to confidently pass the winter," Chernyshov assured.

The head of the company emphasized that Naftogaz plans to provide gas for the heating season exclusively using Ukrainian gas. This is made possible, in part, by increasing gas production by 7% compared to the previous year.

Additionally, the protection of the above-ground gas infrastructure from Russian shelling has been strengthened with additional concrete slabs, known as "big bags," gabions, and other measures.
