"At Ukroboronprom's facilities, we have established licensed production for three models of FPV drones from private companies," said Herman Smetanin, the General Director of "Ukroboronprom," in an interview with EP.
"There is currently a high demand for FPV drones, and we are assisting private firms in scaling up their developments. We have signed licensing agreements with three major companies to manufacture their models. We have the workforce and facilities, and they supply the components, so we handle the production. We aim to support the scaling of developments for anyone who comes to us," he added.
Also a new kamikaze drone has gone into serial production, and Ukraine's Defense Forces have already placed orders for their operations. Herman Smetanin mentioned that the new development boasts a record-breaking combat range of 1000 kilometers.
"In Ukraine, we have numerous state and private manufacturers. We have an analog to the 'Shahed,' but there are more powerful models available, as 'Shaheds' don't fly that far. We are currently focused on manufacturing more complex and expensive projects with high specifications," stated Smetanin.
The development of a kamikaze drone capable of flying up to 1000 kilometers was first reported earlier this year by the former leadership of "Ukroboronprom." At that time, the product was still in the testing phase.
