For the first time in 18 years, Ukrzaliznytsia is launching a railway connection between Lviv and Warsaw. The train will operate through the Rava-Ruska border crossing starting from October 15, 2023.
The route will involve a transfer since Ukrainian rail tracks have a different width (1520 mm) compared to European tracks (1435 mm). Passengers will conveniently transfer between trains at the Rava-Ruska station, both on the way to Lviv and on the return journey. The train in Rava-Ruska will always wait for the train from Lviv or Warsaw, so passengers don't need to worry about missing the connection.
The train schedule is designed to cover not only Lviv but also other cities along the route, including Ivano-Frankivsk, Stryi, Kolomyia, Kalush, Morshyn, Bryukhovychi, and Zhovkva.
This project is implemented in cooperation with the Polish railway carrier SKPL, whose rolling stock will operate routes between Warsaw and Rava-Ruska and vice versa.
You can find the schedule and purchase tickets through the Ukrzaliznytsia mobile application.
