As a result of an extremely complex and successful operation, the Main Intelligence Directorate units fully liberated the territory of the Vovchansk Aggregate Plant and eliminated the Russian forces in all buildings of the enterprise.
On Tuesday, September 24, at 14:40, the commander of the Main Intelligence Directorate special unit, Timur, reported to the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, about the successful completion of the operation.
The operation was carried out by special Main Intelligence Directorate groups: "Stugna," "Paragon," "Yunger," RDK, BDK, and "Terror." Main Intelligence Directorate fighters conducted systematic clearance of the plant’s buildings, constantly engaging in contact battles with the Russians in a densely built-up area. In some cases, Ukrainian special forces engaged the Rusian troops in hand-to-hand combat.
The Russians turned the aggregate plant into their propaganda "fortress," deploying the most motivated and professional units in its defense, including even fighters from the 45th Airborne Assault Brigade (Kubinka, Moscow).
In addition, a significant amount of artillery, strike kamikaze drones, guided aerial bombs (GAB), and heavy flamethrower systems "Sontsepek" were continuously used against the Ukrainian scouts.
Despite the fierce resistance from the Russian forces, the Main Intelligence Directorate units managed to eliminate the Russian troops, capture prisoners, and replenish the exchange fund.
The territory of the aggregate plant has been handed over to the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine after clearing all 30 buildings of the facility.
