Equipping "Sea Baby" maritime drones with multiple launch rocket systems is a clear demonstration that the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) is continuously improving to implement the best military-technological solutions to destroy the enemy.

This was stated by SSU Chief Vasyl Maliuk during the UNITED24 fundraising platform summit.

"The use of surface maritime combat drones marks a new chapter in the history of naval battles. But we have gone much further, and today we are successfully adapting various types of weapons to our drones. We won't reveal all the details to prevent the enemy from preparing. The main thing is that we are implementing the best military-technological solutions, experimenting, and improving every day," Vasyl Maliuk said.

According to him, the SSU first used the Sea Baby drone, equipped with Grad multiple launch rocket systems, in December 2023.

Sea Baby drones are versatile platforms that the SSU equips with additional weapons for various tasks. Among other functions, the drone effectively performs remote mining. According to the SSU Chief, four enemy ships have already been struck this way.

Maliuk recalled that the history of using surface drones began in 2022, when the Commander-in-Chief, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, tasked the SSU with stopping Russian dominance in the Black Sea and creating favorable conditions for the grain corridor's operation.

The special service executed this task, from the operational concept to successful combat missions. The SBU was the first to use surface drones in its special operations.

"Later, our comrades from the Main Intelligence Directorate and the Ukrainian Navy joined us. Today, we have many trophies. The SSU has hit 11 enemy ships. Essentially, we have confined the Russian fleet to the Novorossiysk bay. But even there, we reached them, hitting the large landing ship 'Olenegorsky Gornyak'," Maliuk noted.

With drones equipped with MLRS, the special service can significantly expand the list of potential targets at sea.

One of the priority targets, according to Vasyl Maliuk, is the Crimean Bridge, which has already been struck twice by the SSU, including with the help of Sea Baby drones.

The SSU Chief thanked the ambassadors of UNITED24, volunteers, and all Ukrainians who donate and support the Ukrainian defenders. He also thanked comrades from the Defense Forces with whom the special service implements various plans.

"There are many surprises ahead. Believe me, the SSU and all Defense Forces will not let you down. We must dynamically move together towards Victory because our strength lies in unity," Vasyl Maliuk emphasized.
