In Washington, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky met with a bipartisan delegation from the U.S. Senate, led by Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, to discuss key points of the Victory Plan.
The President expressed gratitude to both parties in the Senate, the U.S. administration, and the American people for their crucial military, economic, energy, and humanitarian support for Ukraine.
"Here, in the capital of the United States, we have many friends who have stood shoulder to shoulder with Ukrainians in the fight for freedom and independence since the first days of the full-scale invasion. Thank you to every member of the Senate for such support," said the President.
According to Volodymyr Zelensky, such meetings are especially important now, as Russia intensifies missile attacks on critical infrastructure ahead of the heating season.
During the discussions with U.S. Senate members, the main focus was on the situation at the front lines, the urgent needs of Ukrainian soldiers, joint weapon production, and key areas for further American support. Ukraine's priority is additional air defense systems and missiles for them.
A particular focus of the conversation was on increasing sanctions pressure on the aggressor state, as well as using revenues from frozen Russian assets for Ukraine's needs.
