President Volodymyr Zelensky and his team visited the border areas of the Sumy region and held a meeting with the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, and the Head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Volodymyr Artyukh.
General Oleksandr Syrskyi reported on the operational situation in the areas of active operations in the Kursk region and along the entire front line – Kharkiv region, Donetsk region, southern Ukraine, and separately on key front line sections. He informed about the steps taken by the command to strengthen defenses in the Toretsk and Pokrovsk directions, where the Russian army continues to concentrate its main efforts.
In designated areas of the Kursk region, Ukrainian forces took control of another settlement and replenished the exchange fund for our state. The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces also reported on the establishment of a military command on this territory.
Head of the OVA Volodymyr Artyukh spoke about the situation in the Sumy region since the start of the Kursk operation. Specifically, he noted the reduction in shelling from artillery and civilian casualties. This has also allowed for safer restoration of the energy infrastructure and preparation for the heating season.
During the meeting, they discussed the coordination of actions between the military, police, and State Emergency Service in the border areas, particularly for organizing humanitarian convoys to designated areas of the Kursk region.
