If our partners lifted all restrictions on long-range capabilities, Ukraine would not need to physically enter the Kursk region to protect Ukrainian citizens in the border area and destroy Russia's potential for aggression. This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelensky in Dnipro during his speech at the meeting of heads of foreign diplomatic missions of Ukraine "War Diplomacy: Resilience, Weapons, Victory."
The President emphasized that Russian military bases, airfields, logistics, and other military facilities are entirely legitimate targets for Ukraine's Defense Forces.
"You must realize, both here and in the capitals where you work, that Ukraine is separated from stopping the advance of the Russian army at the front by only one decision, which we expect from our partners. And this is a decision on long-range capabilities,” Volodymyr Zelensky said.
The President noted that this issue primarily concerns the work of Ukrainian diplomats, ambassadors, and other representatives of Ukraine in the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and other countries that can address the issue of long-range capabilities either directly or by influencing partners.
"I emphasize: Putin's reaction to the operation in the Kursk region proves that there is no rational reason not to allow us to be truly strong, truly long-range. And the situation in the Donetsk region is such that further delay of our partners with long-range capabilities de facto becomes one of the most important pillars of Russian offensive potential,” the Head of State noted.
The meeting of heads of foreign diplomatic missions is held annually. This year, about 200 participants attended, including more than 100 heads of foreign diplomatic missions.
